NCMEA Conference Performance Policies and Procedures
1. Purpose
- To acknowledge excellent high school choral programs through performance at the annual NCMEA Conference.
2. Criteria
- Director must be a current member of NCMEA/NAfME at the time of application and performance.
- Director must have completed three full school years in their current position by June of the year they are applying.
- At least three performance recordings of the group applying must be submitted with the application. Each recording should be one piece of music performed by the applying group and represent one of the previous three school years (three different years). Additional recordings may be submitted as well but no more than eight recordings will be allowed.
- Selected choirs will perform a maximum twenty-five-minute program at the annual NCMEA Conference.
3. Procedure
- Application deadline for 2025 Applications is midnight on May 1. All application materials, including recordings and documents, are due at this time.
- Recording submissions will be judged by a blind panel of high school and collegiate choral educators.
- Teachers will be notified by June 1 of application results.
